FALMOUTH — The Police Department received $16,000 in grants from the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety.
An $11,000 grant will support specialized speeding enforcement details over the next few months. According to a press release, extra officers in marked and unmarked vehicles will be assigned during peak problem periods on public roads.
A $5,000 grant will support OUI enforcement and sobriety checks. According to another press release, specialized detection of impaired drivers will be implemented over the next several months.
