9/14 at 12:56 a.m. David G. Haynes, 43, of Anderson Drive, was arrested on U.S. Route 1 by Officer Kurt Fegan on a charge of operating under the influence.

9/18 at 7:02 p.m. Douglas W. MacDonald, 56, of Barn Road, Yarmouth, was arrested on U.S. Route 1 by Officer Daniel Austin on charges of operating under the influence and failing to stop for a police officer.

9/14 at 3:51 p.m. Thora K. Johnston, 55, of Payson Road, was issued a summons on Payson Road by Officer Daniel Austin on a charge of disorderly conduct.

9/15 at 7:38 p.m. Stephen Smith, 47, of Pennell Avenue, Portland, was issued a summons on Martin’s Point Bridge by Sgt. Kevin Conger Jr. on a charge of possession of marijuana.

A dark and steamy night…

9/13 at 11:20 p.m. During a routine patrol of Walton Park, police officers found a vehicle with “steamed-up windows.” A man and woman were discovered, not in the vehicle, but sitting below on the river embankment. The male said he had been drinking, although an alcohol test found he was OK to drive. The pair were asked to leave because the park was closed.
