Unlocked vehicles targeted

9/9 at 8:32 a.m. Police received complaints from Pine and Merrill roads of items missing from unlocked vehicles. Cars parked all over Falmouth have been targeted in a string of burglaries targeting unlocked vehicles. Backpacks full of textbooks, cash, electronics and even spare change have been stolen. While two suspects have been arrested in connection with some of the thefts, the burglaries have continued and police suspect there is a group of criminals taking advantage of residents’ tendency to leave their cars unlocked. Police encourage people to remove valuables from vehicles and always keep cars locked, even when running quick errands.
