10/27 at 3:35 a.m. Joseph M. King, 46, of Birch Street, Biddeford, was arrested on Blackstrap Road by Officer Jeff Pardue on a charge of operating under the influence.

Summonses

10/26 at 6:49 a.m. A 17-year-old male, of Inverness Road, was issued a summons at Walton Park by Officer Steven Townsend on a charge of misuse of identification.

Failed flight

10/28 at 8:20 a.m. After a vehicle driven by Elaine Smithwick was rear-ended on Bucknam Road, Lt. John Kilbride said a vehicle driven by Paul C. Tukey, 20, of North Street, Portland, fled southbound on Interstate 295. Based on witness descriptions, police spotted Tukey driving in Portland near the Eastern Promenade and arrested him without incident. He was arrested by Officer Al Twombley and charged with leaving the scene of a vehicle crash, operating under the influence, violating conditions of release and possession of marijuana. The victim suffered minor injuries. Her vehicle sustained about $3,000 in damages.

Smash and grab

10/29 at 5:21 p.m. A thief smashed the window of a parked car at Foreside Fitness and absconded with a purse. Lt. John Kilbride said “smash and grabs” are common throughout the region, whether night or day, secluded or public.

Fire calls

10/31 at 8:21 a.m. Vehicle crash on Ledgewood Drive.
