Attempted afternoon snack

4/30 at 2:18 p.m. Police responded to Legion Field to investigate a report of vandalism. Shingles from the roof of the snack shack were allegedly ripped off. Police said it appeared someone was trying to get inside the snack shack through the roof. No suspects have yet been identified.

Mailbox attacks continue

5/2 at 9:20 a.m. A caller reported discovering an exploded water bottle and some aluminium foil in their mailbox. Police said this is one of several explosive devices discovered in mailboxes in Falmouth recently. Police said they believe kids are mixing various types of acid and aluminium foil in tightly sealed bottles, causing a chemical reaction that creates an improvised explosive device. This mailbox reportedly withstood the blast. Police do not yet have any suspects.

Couldn’t wait to get home

5/4 at 6:52 p.m. A caller reported a person sitting in a tan Honda in the Shaw’s Supermarket parking lot, passed out with an open alcohol container visible in the car. The caller reportedly knocked on the car window, at which point the person woke up and drove away. Police located the vehicle parked in a driveway with no one inside.

Taking his drinks to go

5/6 at 9:12 p.m. A Hannaford Supermarket employee called to report the theft of two or three bottles of alcohol from the store.
