Summonses

3/3 at 8:10 p.m. Craig C. Davis, 56, of 61 Lantern Lane, Windham, was summonsed on Mountain Road by Officer Daniel Austin on a charge of failure to report an accident by quickest means.

High-Speed Chase

3/3 at 12:45 a.m. Falmouth officers responded to a crash near 308 Blackstrap Road involving a vehicle that was being pursued by Cumberland Police. According to police, Chase Blanchard, 22, of Falmouth, refused to pull over for Cumberland officers for speeding, leading them on a chase that ended in a violent crash just 200 yards from Blanchard’s residence. Officers allege that Blanchard reached speeds of 90 mph before losing control of his 2004 Chevy pick-up and slamming into a tree. Police suspect alcohol and speed were factors in Blanchard’s crash. Cumberland police are pursuing charges against Blanchard, who was reportedly in critical condition at Maine Medical Center last week.

3/3 at 8:10 p.m. A Windham man was charged with leaving the scene of a single-car accident the night before. According to police, Craig C. Davis, 56, of 61 Lantern Lane, Windham, crashed his Jeep Wrangler in the woods on Mountain Road, but successfully fled before officers arrived with a K-9 search team. Davis was summonsed the next day when he came to the police department to claim property from the crash. According to police, Davis said he lost control of his vehicle after he swerved to avoid hitting something. However, it’s unclear why he left the scene.
