Summonses
3/15 at 8:00 p.m. A 17-year-old male, of Standish, was summonsed at Hannaford Supermarket on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
3/20 at 10:24 a.m. Colin Franklin, 22, of Payson Road, was summonsed by Detective Wayne Geyer at 47 Underwood Road on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
3/22 at 8:00 a.m. Matthew Maloney, 26, of Portland, was summonsed by Sgt. Kevin Conger, Jr. at 65 Gray Road on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
Fatal tractor-trailer crash
3/26 at 10:30 a.m. A tractor trailer truck went off the road and overturned on the Falmouth spur of I-95, instantly killing the driver. Police say Marc Moreau, 40, of North Turner, was talking on his cell phone and may have been driving too fast when he lost control of the big rig, which was carrying trash to a landfill in Bangor. It took rescue crews four hours to remove Moreau’s body from the wreckage.
Framed
3/22 at 7:53 p.m. Two young males dressed in sweatshirts, jeans and baseball hats allegedly attempted to steal two flat-screen televisions from Wal-Mart. When they discovered the televisions were bolted to the display, they reportedly grabbed two digital picture frames worth approximately $60 each, and fled the store. Police were not able to locate them.
Ford Almost-Escape
3/23 at 4:08 p.m. A caller reported that he had loaned his 1995 white Ford pick-up truck to two coworkers in November, and that they had allegedly failed to return it to him after repeatedly promising to do so. Police reportedly discovered that the truck had multiple parking violations in Portsmouth, N.H. and contacted police there. The truck had reportedly been abandoned and was then returned to its owner.
Deposit slip-up
3/24 at 9:04 a.m. An employee of Key Bank called to report that a diabetic kit had been left in the overnight drop box with the evening’s deposits. Police took the kit, but because a deposit slip was not filled out, they were not able to locate the owner.
