3/23 at 5:04 p.m. Besmellah Kargar, 23, of Howards End Drive, was arrested on Howards End Drive by Officer Lucas Hallett on a charge of failure to pay fine/fee.

3/24 at 10:54 a.m. William C. Maines, 21, of Thunder Road, Freeport, was arrested on Middle Road by Officer Kurt Fegan on a warrant.

3/25 at 5:05 p.m. Joseph J. Handlon, 32, of Longwoods Road, was arrested on Longwoods Road by Officer Lucas Hallett on a charge of violating conditions of release.

Summonses

2/22 at 2:47 p.m. Jessica L. Jordan, 27, of Broadway, South Portland, was issued a summons on Route 1 by Officer Lucas Hallett on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

3/15 at 9:56 p.m. Tobias English, 44, of Middle Road, was issued a summons on Route 1 by Officer Kurt Fegan on a charge of operating while a license was suspended or revoked.

3/17 at 9:30 a.m. John E. Witkowski, 63, of Forest Avenue, Portland, was issued a summons on Route 1 by Officer Jeffrey Pardue on a charge of operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

3/19 at 9:33 p.m. Matthew R. Johnson, 22, of Longwoods Road, was issued a summons on Route 1 by Officer Stephen Hamilton on a charge of possession of marijuana.

3/21 at 1:23 a.m. Spencer L. Mackin, 19, of Brookside Drive, was issued a summons by Officer Lucas Hallett on a charge of transportation of liquor by a minor.

Stinky situation

3/23 at 7:47 a.m. Police were called to investigate damage to a sewer pumping station at the end of Clearwater Drive. Upon arrival, officers found that a manhole had been pried open and a pole had been thrown down, piercing an airhose and causing the pumping station to go down. Sewage was backing up and the hose had to be replaced. Police estimate at least $2,000 worth of damage to the station and currently have no leads on who the vandal or vandals might be.

Nicked necklaces

3/24 at 10:34 a.m. A couple on Winn Farm Lane called police to report jewelry stolen from their home within the past six or seven months. The several pieces of jewelry reported missing were estimated to be worth as much as $6,000. Police found no forced entry and currently have no leads on the alleged theft.
