6/2 at 10:30 a.m. Amber McCourt, 33, of Plymouth Street, Portland, was arrested by Officer Frank Soule and charged with operating after license suspension.

5/30 at 1:43 p.m. Victoria Lane residents called for the animal control officer because they found what they thought was a rattlesnake. When Officer Charles Burnie arrived, he identified the reptile as a milk snake, which is not poisonous. The snake was released in the woods. There are no poisonous snakes in Maine.

6/2 at 11:45 a.m. The Irving gas station on Gray Road called police to report a customer drove off without paying for $26.49 in gas. After tracking down the car and reviewing the case, it was determined the driver had paid at the pump but, due to a mechanical error, the payment didn’t show up.

No time to pull over

6/3 at 12:22 p.m.  As Lt. John Kilbride was driving down Mountain Road, he came close to hitting an empty car left in the middle of the roadway with its engine running. As he got out to investigate, a woman came running out of the bushes with a dog in tow. She had spotted the loose dog and stopped her car to get out and save it. The dog was taken to the pound.
