7/7 at 8:02 p.m. Johanna Carr, 25, of South Portland, was arrested on Blackstrap Road by Officer Dan Austin on a charge of operating under the influence.

Summonses

5/26 at 8:24 a.m. Jessica Lesperance, 22, of Route 1, was summonsed at Dunkin’ Donuts by Officer Stephen Hamilton on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

7/4 at 2:56 a.m. Ryan Bachman, 21, of Foreside Road, was summonsed on Route 1 by Officer Steven Townsend on charges of failing to make written or oral complaint of an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and speeding more than 30 mph over the limit.

Stinky situation

7/2 at 10:13 p.m. A caller reported a diaper bag with important documents inside had been stolen from her cart while she was shopping at Walmart.

Not-so-foxy

7/3 at 12:12 p.m. Police responded to a call from a homeowner about a sickly fox in her yard. By the time police arrived, the fox was dead. The officer removed the animal and took it to the transfer station.

Celebrating freedom to crash into a swamp

7/4 at 2:56 a.m. Early in the morning on Independence Day, Officer Steven Townsend clocked a vehicle going 102 mph on Route 1. According to police, the vehicle was gone by the time Townsend turned his cruiser around to pursue. Officers later located the vehicle crashed into a swamp at the corner of Route 1 and Johnson Road. The driver was nowhere to be found and a K-9 search of the area was reportedly unsuccessful. Police said the driver, Ryan Bachman, 21, of Foreside Road, turned himself in at approximately 11 a.m. that same morning. He was charged with failing to make written or oral complaint of an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and speeding more than 30 mph over the limit. He was reportedly not injured in the crash.

Lobster boat nearly sinks at Town Landing

7/13 at 6 a.m. Fire crews responded to a call from a Falmouth Police Officer reporting of a sinking boat at Falmouth Town Landing. The 31-foot lobster boat, Jerry II, was tied to floats and taking on water. Falmouth crews reportedly deployed an 80-foot boom around the boat to contain any leaking gas or oil. Less than one gallon of fluid is estimated to have leaked from the sinking boat. A salvage company was called to the scene and successfully recovered the vessel  before it completely sank. No injuries were reported.

There were 30 calls for emergency medical assistance from July 2 through July 8.
