Arrests

7/25 at 12:49 a.m. Dana Burnell, 29, of Casco, was arrested on Martin’s Point Bridge by Officer Kurt Fegan on a warrant for another agency.

7/25 at 2:16 a.m. Guy Gowen Jr., 55, of Leighton Road, was arrested on Leighton Road by Officer Kurt Fegan on a charge of operating under the influence.

Summonses

7/26 at 10:29 a.m. Justin Williams, 37, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was summonsed on Route 1 by Officer Daniel Austin on a charge of operating without a license.

Shopping for a ride

7/24 at 10:39 p.m. Police responded to a call from a Walmart employee reporting a man with a cardboard sign allegedly harassing shoppers in the store. The sign reportedly was asking people for a ride. When officers arrived, the man was no where to be found.

Thwarted bike theft

7/27 at 4:41 p.m. A caller reported a burglary in progress on Andrews Avenue. The caller told police two young boys entered an open garage and took two bicycles. Officers located the bikes, abandoned on the Portland side of Martin’s Point Bridge and returned them to their owner.

Late night dips

7/27 at 9:59 p.m. Police responded to a call from Mackworth Island where two women allegedly jumped the locked gate and went down to the beach. The women reportedly told police they only wanted to go for a quick swim. Officers reportedly explained that they could not cross the gate when it was locked and gave them both warnings for criminal trespass.
