3/26 at 12:35 a.m. Dustin Duran, 20, of Fort Road, South Portland, was arrested on southbound Interstate 295 by Officer Dennis Ryder on charges of operating under the influence and illegal possession of liquor by a minor.


2/27 at 12:30 p.m. Paula Gaillard, 48, of West Valentine Street, Westbrook, was issued a summons on U.S. Route 1 by Sgt. Frank Soule on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking.

Running dry

3/23 at 5:19 p.m. A white male in a dark sweatshirt attempted to steal alcohol from the Hannaford Supermarket on 65 Gray Road. However, he took off running and was last seen on Route 100 heading towards Portland.

Midnight snack

3/23 at 11:07 p.m. A homeowner on Woodlands Drive reported a loud banging sound at the back of the house, believing someone was trying to break in. Responding officers discovered a raccoon had knocked down a screen door in an attempt to get chicken bones the homeowner had left out.
