FALMOUTH — Two cars were destroyed by a fire May 27 on Gray Road.
Firefighters who responded to a mulch fire at 70 Gray Road shortly before 4 p.m. found that the fire had spread to the rear parking lot at TD Bank. A 2004 Honda Civic and a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt were destroyed.
According to a press release from the Falmouth Fire-EMS Department, the fire appeared to have been started in the mulch, and several cigarettes were found nearby.
The department urged smokers not to dispose of cigarette butts in mulch or brush.
