n-falfiretraining-100109.jpgFalmouth residents who drove down Lunt Road past the schools Monday evening, Sept. 28, might have wondered what was going on with two fire trucks parked in the Lunt School lot, a third in a driveway across the street and 50 firefighters in full gear milling around the area. Chief Howard Rice Jr. said they were conducting a weekly training session. In the parking lot, firefighters were practicing climbing, raising and carrying ladders and deploying and re-packing hose. On the roof of this single-story Lunt Road home, slated for demolition, firefighters practiced cutting ventilation holes and searching for “victims” inside the house, which was filled with artificial smoke to reduce visibility.
