FALMOUTH — OceanView retirement community will have a groundbreaking ceremony for a new memory-care facility at 11 a.m., Sept. 18, at the former Lunt Elementary School, 192 Middle Road.
Legacy Memory Care is planned as a 24-apartment, dementia- and Alzheimer’s-care community.
OceanView purchased the 20-acre property, which also includes the former Sampson D. Plummer School, from the town in March for $3.25 million.
The former Plummer School was leased to the Portland School Department in August and will be home to the West Day Treatment program, which serves students with emotional disabilities and mental health diagnoses.
