FALMOUTH — Area businesses and several popular bands are raising money for the Solar Cooker Project, which provides solar ovens to women in refugee camps in Africa.

The bands, Tommy Bazarian and the Rhythm Rug, Phantom Companion, and Men in Flannel will perform Friday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Falmouth High School cafeteria.

Donations to purchase the $15 solar cookers will be taken at the door and the event is open to the public. Shaw’s Supermarkets and the employees at Goodwill in Falmouth have also donated to the cause.

A previous FHS fundraiser for a similar cause raised $2,500.
