FALMOUTH — In a unanimous decision, the School Board voted Tuesday to appoint Assistant Superintendent of Schools Barbara Powers to the position of interim superintendent, effective July 1. She will replace Superintendent George Entwistle III, who is leaving to become superintendent of Belmont, Mass. schools.
The board also voted unanimously to appoint interim middle school Principal Sue Palfrey to be the school’s new principal.
In other business, next year’s school calendar was unanimously approved after little discussion. Some changes include reducing the number of early release days, shortening the number of vacation days over Thanksgiving week and adding five minutes to each school day.
