2/24 at 3:40 p.m. Larry Thach, 20, of Riverton Drive, Portland, was issued a summons by Sgt. Bradford Walker on a charge of terrorizing.
Why is it always the woman’s fault?
2/20 at 2:21 p.m. Police were notified that a man parked in front of Radio Shack appeared irate as he talked on his cell phone. When an officer investigated, the man told him his car had died and he had been yelling at his wife on the phone.
No use for loose goose
2/24 at 10:42 a.m. An Ashwood Lane resident reported a Canadian goose was wandering around the road in front of the house. It eventually flew away, but police have received several reports in the past week of a tame Canadian goose in yards and roadways.
Valiant resident
2/25 at 2:01 p.m. A woman on Babbidge Road called police to report a break-in. She had been sitting in her kitchen when a man kicked in her front door with such force that parts of the door were propelled across the kitchen floor. She screamed and the man ran out, climbed into a small black pickup truck and drove off toward Windham.

Phantom train
2/28 at 11:17 a.m. The railroad alarm, lights and traffic stopping barriers came on to indicate an approaching train through Main Street, but there was no train in site. Two cars ran into the barrier as they did not see the arms and police had to direct traffic for over an hour while railroad maintenance came to fix the problem.

Drive-by
2/17 at 7:47 p.m. A North Yarmouth resident called to report that while driving on Orchard Road, someone shot his Mazda pickup truck with paint pellets. The suspects were described as kids standing on the side of the road. Cumberland police along with county cops searched Haskell Road and Route 115 in North Yarmouth for the suspects, but were unable to locate them.
Under age
2/27 At around midnight, police received a tip about a high school party and responded to a Cider Hill Lane address, where two 17-year-olds were issued summonses on charges of possession of alcohol. Both were released to their parents.

2/27 Between 10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, there were 19 calls regarding downed power lines and one for a transformer explosion at Main Street and Greely Road.
