The fall sports season, circa 2011, produced drama in the Mid-Coast.

Brunswick’s football team was among the top squads in Eastern A all season and made the playoffs before falling to Bangor in the semifinals. Morse reached the Eastern B postseason, but lost to eventual champion Leavitt.

All three boys’ soccer teams qualified for the playoffs. All three were ousted in the quarterfinals.

On the girls’ side, Morse stole the show, going undefeated and earning the top seed in its first season in Western B. The Shipbuilders would make it to the regional final before finally falling, 2-1, to eventual state champion Falmouth. In Eastern A, Brunswick reached the regional final before losing to eventual state champion Bangor. Mt. Ararat was ousted in the quarterfinals.

Field hockey produced a playoff team in Brunswick.

Mt. Ararat’s girls’ cross country team was the second-best in Class A. Brunswick came in fourth. The Eagles boys came in fourth in Class A. The Dragons were ninth.

Brunswick’s golf team was the seventh-best in Class A.

And now, we move on to winter.
