PORTLAND —The Noyes Family and the Noyes Brain Tumor Foundation will once again host Cooking for a Cure, a tasting event to benefit the Brain Tumor Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Guests will be treated to appetizers, entrees and deserts from more than 25 area restaurants. They will also have opportunities to bid on silent- and live-auction items.
Bill and Nancy Noyes, of Scarborough, are dedicated to helping children suffering from brain tumors. Their own son, Matt Noyes, died of a brain tumor in 2008 at the age of 25. Before his death, he helped his parents establish the foundation to further the work of St. Jude’s.
The event will take place from 6-10 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay on Spring Street in Portland. More than 300 people attended last year’s gala, which raised more than $65,000 for the hospital.
