FALMOUTH — Elizabeth Green Guptill, 81, formerly of Portland, died March 5 at Sedgewood Commons.

Born in Portland on April 21, 1929,  a daughter of Patrick H. and Barbara E. (Davis) Green, she attended Portland schools and graduated from Portland High School in 1947.

Later, she graduated from Northeast Business College.

On Oct. 25, 1952, she married Royce C. Guptill in Portland.

For 30 years she worked as a bookkeeper for Ballard Oil before working for G.M. Pollock Jewelers.

After she retired in 1991 she enjoyed spending her free time reading.

She was very proud of her Irish heritage and devoted to her Catholic faith.

Her husband Royce predeceased her June 1, 2005. She was also predeceased by a sister, Mary F. Green, and two brothers, John P. Green and Joseph H. Green.

Surviving are her four children, Colleen M. Browne of Gorham, Kathleen A. Levesque and her husband Andre of Gorham, Ellen R. Guptill of Portland, and Royce M. Guptill and his wife Betsy of Gorham; a sister, Sister Catherine Green, RSM, of Portland; nine grandchildren, Andrew, Mark, Susan, and Matthew Levesque, Megan Bernier, Patricia Valente, Royce and Alexander Guptill, and Travis Cline; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Monday, March 7.

Arrangements are by Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland.
