BRUNSWICK — Elizabeth E. “Betty” Moody, 88, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Oct. 31 at the Glenridge Living Center in Augusta.

She was born in Augusta on July 11, 1921, a daughter of Harold and Helen Bagley Ormsby.

In 1939 she graduated from Brunswick High School and went on to complete the Nazarene course of study for ministry.

She owned the Lighthouse Christian Bookstore in Brunswick. The bookstore was her passion and she also enjoyed helping area churches grow their libraries. She preached at several churches in the area and held video ministries at Augusta nursing homes.

She was a member of the Augusta Nazarene Church and also attended the Berean Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Stone Moody in January 2000.

Surviving are her five children, Lois Hancock of Augusta, Dorothy Moody of Brunswick, Harold Moody of Augusta, Helen Becker of Brunswick, and Joyce Lang of Florida; her sister, Lois Hafler of Quakertown, Penn.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
