TOPSHAM ? Eleanor W. Tefft, 94, of Jesse Road, formerly of Pierce Lane in Brunswick, died Oct. 1 at Mid Coast Senior Health Center. She was born in Yarmouth, the daughter of Winfield and Belva Decker Wentworth.

Tefft was the valedictorian for the North Yarmouth Academy Class of 1938 and graduated from the Maine School of Commerce in Portland in 1940.

She married George V. Tefft in St. Louis, Missouri, in August 1942.  She lived in several different places during her husband’s career in the Air Force, and traveled extensively when she was older.

Tefft was an avid golfer and a member of the Brunswick Golf Club, and enjoyed playing bridge. She was also a talented artist who specialized in oil paintings.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Tefft. She is survived by three sons, Brian Tefft of Richardson, Texas, Dennis Tefft of Brunswick and Timothy Tefft of Lisbon Falls; a daughter, Kathleen Greer-Burns of Topsham;10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Oct. 6, with the Rev. Bob Beaumont officiating. Burial will follow at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
