PORTLAND — Elaine Audrey Tucker, 82, died Feb. 19 at Mercy Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Portland on March 19, 1931, to Archibald and Eleanor Mishio. She attended local schools and lived most of her life in the city she adored. After high school, she worked as a waitress at Uncle Andy’s Bakery and then for her brother, Spike at Stinson’s Bakery until she retired.

After retiring, she volunteered as a foster grandmother at several daycare centers around Portland, bringing joy to many children. She enjoyed sightseeing day trips, loved to read and visit with friends and talked about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to anyone who would listen, always having pictures ready to show. She looked forward to receiving cards and letters from her two caring pen pals; Kat Hinkle and Ann Doughty.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Philip E. Tucker; son, Robert E. Morey; brothers Herbert Stinson and Clifford Mishio; sister, Virginia Macomber; and son-in-law, Chester Reynolds.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen M. Morey and Mary E. Jensen; grandsons, Steven Greer, Jeff Greer and partner, Melissa Tapley, Philip Adams and wife, Carina, and Elijah Jensen; granddaughter, Desirae Rowe; great-grandchildren Brandon M., Madison, Mitchell, Brettan, Soran, Brandon T., Abby and Kasen; brother, Ronald; sister-in-law, Millie Stinson; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Barron Center for their care and support for Tucker.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland.
