YARMOUTH — Edna Marie (Anderson) Gordan, 87, died Jan. 26 of a brief illness, after spending her last days surrounded by her family.

Gordan was born in 1927 in Yarmouth, where she lived for her entire life. She was the daughter of Christian Anderson and Antoinette (Lowe) Anderson, who immigrated to the United States from Norway. She graduated from North Yarmouth Academy in 1945, and in 1949, married Earle Gordan.

Edna worked in a variety of jobs throughout her life, but her primary focus was raising her family with her husband and caring for others. She loved to ski, dance, ride horses and laugh. One of her favorite things was making Sunday morning breakfast for her family, a meal where there was never too little to eat.

Gordan was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother, Arthur.

She is survived by her son, James, and fiancee, Patricia Beaulieu, of Yarmouth; her son, Brian, wife Bridget, of Yarmouth, and their children Matthew, Kristen, and Stephen Pichette; her brother, Christian Anderson, of West Baldwin; and her nieces and nephew.

There will be a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth during the spring. Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Gordan’s memory to Merrill Memorial Library, 215 Main St., Yarmouth, ME 04096.
