A student from the Brown School in South Portland gets a high five after participating in the annual Earth Day beach cleanup on April 29 at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth. The fourth-grade students and their teachers, Janet Kandoian and Robin Reinhold, learned about the importance of clean water from Fred Dillon of the South Portland Water Resource Protection Department, and were treated to cookies and lemonade on the inn’s lawn after collecting bags of debris along Crescent Beach.
