FALMOUTH — Borrowers have downloaded 100 audio books in the first three months of Falmouth Memorial Library’s Downloadable Audio Project.

The program gives cardholders with a home computer 24-hour access to thousands of downloadable audio books in the statewide collection. Two titles may be checked out at a time, transferred to an MP3 player or iPod and used for a week; some may be burned to CDs.

The project was made possible by a grant from the New Century Community Program. Falmouth is one of 126 Maine libraries currently using the program. For more information, visit falmouth.lib.me.us and click the “download audiobooks” logo.
