SOUTH PORTLAND — Dorothy E. Fisher, 84, of South Portland, died at her residence Dec. 27, following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Andover, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of Wiley and Velma Duplissae McLean. She was educated in Andover schools and graduated from Andover High School in 1944.

She married Arthur F. Fisher on June 27, 1949, and the couple soon began a family. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, and enjoyed flower gardening and reading mystery novels. Fisher also enjoyed family activities, such as car rides together and visiting the family camp on Little Sebago.

Fisher was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, in 1997; a daughter, Susan Fisher, also in 1997; and a son, Gary Fisher, in 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn DePaolo, of South Portland, as well as by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Dec. 31 at Holy Cross Church in South Portland. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
