YARMOUTH — Donald A. Estabrook Sr., 82, of Yarmouth, died unexpectedly on Sept. 26.

He was born in Freeport on Feb. 17, 1932, a son of Adelaide (Cleaves) and Jason Estabrook.

For 32 years, Estabrook was employed by Texaco. After retirement in 1997, he enjoyed a part-time job in Orlando, Florida, where he delivered ambulances throughout the United States. One of his most memorable trips was to Yellowstone National Park. He had wintered in Orlando for the past 14 years.

A husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Estabrook took great pride in the care of his home, particularly his lawn and garden. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and took pride in the moose he shot. He also enjoyed many trips to Prince Edward Island, where he had a summer cottage. After it was sold, he continued yearly visits for the “Palmer Road Picnic” on the island, where he saw many of his current wife’s family.

He particularly enjoyed sharing morning coffee with his youngest brother, Gene, who visited every morning while in Yarmouth.

Estabrook was a lifetime member of the Cumberland Farmers Club and American Legion Post No. 91.
