FALMOUTH — Dianne D. Russo, 76, died surrounded by her family Jan. 15, in Falmouth. She was born in Portland June 10, 1939, the daughter of Donald and Annie Alexander DiBiase. After graduating from Portland High School in 1957, Russo went to work at the former Canal Bank and Trust and catered to local restaurants. Russo worked at Sears for 25 years as a sales manager until she retired.
Russo’s greatest passions were cooking for her family and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and dance events. She also enjoyed being a part of the Portland High Boosters Club and raising money for the high school football team. Russo also served on the board of directors for Miss Maine America for many years. She was very involved at St. Peters Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir and cooked for church suppers. Russo enjoyed holidays and time near the water and soaking up the sun.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony “Bucky” Russo, whom she married in June 1960; two brothers, Mathew DiBiase and Rocco DiBiase; and two sisters, Angelina Ferrante and Mary Ferrante.
Russo is survived by two sons, Michael Russo and Benjamin Russo, both of Portland; a daughter, Marjorie Pelzer, of Portland; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Ariana, Anthony, Paige and Dominic; a brother, Skippy DiBiase; and many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A funeral service will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 10 Alton St., Portland, at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, with the Rev. Larry Weeks officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at New Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
