CUMBERLAND CENTER — Diane L. Allen, 61, died peacefully at her home Dec. 6 following a four-year battle with ovarian cancer.

She was raised in North Windham, a daughter of Stephen and Ruth Manchester.

She graduated from Westbrook Junior College and later from Casco Bay College.

While working for law firm Preti & Flaherty in Portland, she met her husband of 37 years, Richard.

Her heart for charity led her to volunteer assisting the elderly through the organization Just Friends of Yarmouth.

Her greatest joy was serving her family, friends and church.

The family extends sincere thanks to the entire cancer community of Scarborough and Portland for continuous love and support during a difficult journey.
 
She is survived by her husband Richard Allen; her son Michael Allen and his wife Ramona of Standish, her daughter Melissa Abeln and her husband Dan of Gorham; and her five grandchildren, Adrianna, Darien, Evangelyn, Gabrielle, and Tristan; her mother, Ruth Manchester of North Windham; two brothers, Stephen Manchester and his wife Sally of Limerick, and Warren Manchester of Raymond, and two sisters, Marian Walton and her husband Timothy of Fayette, and Susan Wheeler and her husband Dan of Winthrop.

Memorial services were held Sunday.
