FREEPORT – Diane E. Dennison, 70, died June 27 at her home in Freeport from a heart attack. She was born on May 21, 1943, in Portland, and was a long-time employee of LL Bean.

Dennison enjoyed spending time in her garden planting flowers and pulling weeds. She also was a novice painter and painted beautiful scenes of the outdoors for her family.

Dennison loved to read and spent her evenings reading Amish books by the hundreds. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans, scarves and trinkets for her family and friends, always sewing a butterfly on her projects as her signature.

Dennison is survived by her husband of 16 years, Wayne Dennison; her daughters, Corinna Libby and Debra Dennison, and her fiancé, Larry Sawyer; her son, Daniel Dennison, and his wife, Christine; her brother, Robinson Delan; her grandsons, Ian Libby and Maxime Dennison; and her granddaughter, Cheyenne Dennison.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 5 in Burr Cemetery, 56 Durham Road, Freeport.

In lieu of flowers, Diane’s family has asked for donation in her name to: National Kidney Foundation, Maine Chapter, 470 Forest Ave., Suite 302, Portland, ME 04101.
