PORTLAND — Rep. Mark Dion won the Democratic primary for the Maine Senate District 28 seat Tuesday, defeating Councilor Jill Duson and Ann Peoples in a 664-589-264 vote, respectively.
Dion will now face Republican Karen Usher of Westbrook a in the Nov. 8 general election. Usher was unopposed in her party’s primary election.
Senate District 28 is now represented by Democratic Sen. Anne Haskell, who decided against seeking a third consecutive term. Senate District 28 cover Portland west of Woodfords Corner and Allen Avenue and a portion of Westbrook.
