PORTLAND — When vintage rockers Foreigner take the stage at the State Theatre at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, they will get a youthful boost from the Deering High School chorus.

The band, known for its late ’70s and early ’80s hits “Feels Like the First Time,” “Jukebox Hero” and “Cold as Ice,” has asked the 26-member school chorus to join in singing the ballad “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

Chorus members will also help sell Foreigner CDs before and after the show to raise money for the Grammy Foundation, which supports high school music education throughout the country.

“We look forward to our performance with Foreigner and our ability to help support other music programs across the country,” Deering music teacher Gilbert Peltola said in a news release.
