FREEPORT — Deborah M. Shoby, 60, of Freeport, died June 6, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Shoby was born Feb. 22, 1953, in New York, N.Y., the daughter of Joseph W. and Amelia Torresi Baranello. She graduated from Holy Cross Academy and later received degrees from Fordham University and the University of New England. She married David B. Shoby Aug. 24, 1975, in Kennebunkport.

Shoby was a woman who enjoyed many activities, especially crafts, cooking, painting, gardening and spending time with her family and many friends.

She was employed as a physical therapist at St. Mary’s Hospital, in Lewiston, and for the past 21 years at CHANS Home Health Care, in Brunswick.

She was also a communicant of St. Jude’s Church, in Freeport.

She is survived by her husband, David Shoby, of Freeport; a daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Shoby, of Gray; and two sisters, Vicki Hammond of Ardsley, N.Y., and Charlaine Levy and her husband, Ted, of Manalapan, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Topsham, ME 04086.
