PORTLAND – Deborah Golden Bargad, 52, of Portland, died April 1 at Mercy Hospital.
She was born Feb 10, 1961, in Brookline, Mass., the daughter of Martin and Martha Bargad. She grew up in Peabody, Mass., and lived for the last 10 years in Portland.
Bargad enjoyed many hobbies, including going to the movies, going out to eat and shopping. She loved to knit, and was a member of various knitting clubs. She was an avid reader of a wide range of books and had an extensive book collection. She especially enjoyed spending time at holidays and gatherings with her companion Ken Reynolds’ family.
Bargad was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her brother, Sam Bargad, of Los Angeles; her aunt, Sandra Gould, her cousin, Noah Weinstein, her longtime companion, Ken Reynolds, of Portland; and her close friends, Donna Dusseault, and her husband, Art, of South Portland.
A celebration of Bargad’s life was held last Saturday. Arrangements were provided by A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services of Portland.
