YARMOUTH — Dean Arthur Hoehle, 45, son of Nancy Hoehle Gorden and the late Douglas F. Hoehle, died Nov. 25 after a long illness.

Hoehle was born Jan. 6, 1969, and grew up in Yarmouth. He graduated from Yarmouth High School then attended Washington and Jefferson College.

From a very early age, Hoehle displayed a love of reading and writing, and that love remained with him throughout his life. He was known for his full heart, his sense of humor, and his loyalty as a friend who always thought of others before himself.

Hoehle was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Hoehle Gorden, and stepfather, Stephen Gorden, of North Yarmouth; his brother, Douglas Hoehle, wife Tammy and their children, Nicole and Connor; and stepbrothers, Glenn Gorden, of Freeport, Todd Gorden and wife, Angela, of Berkeley, California, and Chadd Gorden and wife, Maria, of Dallas.

A memorial service was held Dec. 13 at the First Parish Congregational Church in Yarmouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Hoehle’s memory may be made to Shalom House, 106 Gilman St., Portland, ME 04102.
