PORTLAND — David H. Jamison, 60, of Freeport died at Maine Medical Center with his loving family by his side after battling diabetes.

He was born in Rumford in 1949, the son of Harold and Anne Jamison.

After graduating from Maine Central Institute and Newbury Junior College, he enlisted in the Marine Corps.

In 1968 he served in Vietnam, returning home with honors as a disabled veteran.

In 1970 he met his wife, Donna, and they spent nearly four decades together raising their two sons, Ryan and Corey, and daughter, Ashley.

A loving, loyal, and strong person, he devoted his life to his family.

Before moving to Maine in 1989, he owned a successful construction company. While in Maine, he worked as a property adjuster for Allstate Insurance, retiring in 2002.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Anne Jamison.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Donna; two sons, Corey and Ryan, and daughter Ashley; brother Steve and his wife Carla, sister Sharon Drake and her husband Jeff; sister in-law Shelley Mercier and many more family members.

The funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday Nov. 18 at Lindquist Funeral Home One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A reception will immediately follow at the Sacred Heart Church Hall, 326 Main St., Yarmouth.
