In 1982, he and his wife relocated to Yarmouth to be near their cottage on Cousins Island. His new interests included collecting marine antiquities and restoring old prints. He was active in the Yarmouth Historical Society and worked part time at Pillars.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Carolyn Kenney Low; and most recently by his beloved grandson, Andrew David Kenney on April 12.
