TOPSHAM — David E. Madaga, 51, died July 21 at Mid Coast Hospital.

He was born in Webster, Mass., on Jan. 28, 1958, a son of Robert D. and Dorothy J. (Cusson) Madaga.

He grew up in North Oxford, Mass., and attended locals schools. After graduating from Charleton Bay Path Technical High School in 1976, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. From 1976 to 1981, he served with the Seabees.

Following his tour with the U.S. Navy, he moved to Topsham and worked for Harry E. Crooker & Sons for 27 years. He spent over 20 years restoring a steam-powered log hauler for the Crooker Company, which was a source of pride for him.

His hobbies included tinkering and gardening.

He was predeceased by his father.

Surviving are his mother of Charleton, Mass.; his brother, Douglas Madaga and his wife, Penny of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his sister, Donna Andren of Niantic, Conn.; and a nephew, Michael Andren of Woburn, Mass.

Memorial services were held last week.

Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
