BRUNSWICK — Danny R. Profenno, 51, died suddenly at his Brunswick home on April 2.

Born May 29, 1958, in Portland, he was a son of Camillo R. Profenno and Evelyn Maguire  Ashby. 

He attended Freeport schools, graduating from Freeport High School in 1976. 

The following year he joined the U.S. Navy, and served for two years.

He will be remembered as a cheerful, kind and friendly man who enjoyed helping others. 

For many years he volunteered at the Brunswick Seventh Day Adventist Community Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family and lots of outdoor sports.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Sherwood and Isabelle Maguire of Falmouth.

Surviving are his daughter, Faith Rodriquez of Ensign, Kan.; two grandchildren, Dante and Lillyanna Rodriquez, of Ensign, Kan.; his father, Camillo Robert Profenno of Freeport and his mother Evelyn (Maguire) Ashby of Harpswell; a brother, Timothy Profenno of Gorham, and two sisters, Janice Peaslee of New Gloucester, and Kimberly Profenno of Searsport; paternal grandmother Jennie Profenno of Freeport; many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and cousins.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
