BRUNSWICK — Daniel Leveris, 61, died March 28.

He was born in Haverhill, Mass., on Oct. 15, 1960, the only child of Alexander and Helen Faniades Leveris.

After graduating high school, he served as a volunteer full-time minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses for several years, spending one year at the World Headquarters in Brooklyn, N.Y. On April 21, 1973, he married Jane. M. Souther of Cohassett, Mass., and together they moved to Brunswick to continue their volunteer full-time ministry.

In 1973 he founded Down East Cleaning, a janitorial and carpet cleaning business, which he and his wife successfully ran together for many years. As a member of the Brunswick community for 39 years, he will be remembered for his outstanding generosity and genuine hospitality.

A true and caring friend, he willingly looked after “widows and fatherless boys.” He was known to his friends and family as the “Grill Master.” He enjoyed good food, good wine and great pizza. With his family he enjoyed traveling, vacations at Newfound Lake, skiing, tennis, basketball and working in his garden. Most important to him, he served Jehovah God faithfully throughout his life.

He is survived by Jane, his wife of 39 years; his children, Chris, Theo and his wife, Kim, Alex and Mercedes; his uncle Arturo Leveris of Lugano, Switzerland, and his aunt Irene Karamalis of Hartford, Conn.

Visiting hours were held March 31 at Bracket Funeral Home. A memorial talk followed visiting hours at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
