YARMOUTH — Cynthia Rich Catell died Jan. 17 surrounded by her family at Sedgewood Commons.
Born in Bangor on April 24, 1926, she was the daughter of Charles Middleton Rich and Hilda Bangs Rich.
After graduating from Bangor High School in 1944, she attended Husson College.
She married Robert Leonard Catell of Bangor on June 18, 1945.
She moved frequently throughout her life and was involved with many organizations.
She was a Colonial Dame and a docent for the Tate House, where she enjoyed giving tours to school groups.
She loved her home in Yarmouth and was deeply involved in her community. She was a member of the Yarmouth Farm and Garden, the Village Improvement Society, the Health Council and the Fortnightly Club, Saint Mary’s Garden Club and the Visiting Board of the Maine Medical Center.
An avid golfer, she was a member of the Portland Country Club.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Catell; her daughter, Anne Catell and her husband George Samuels of Greenland, N.H.; her four grandchildren, Benjamin, Haley, Robert Pecora and Adrienne Catell.
Memorial services were held last week.
