CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Congregational Church, which has provided firewood to community members in need of heating assistance, has a low wood bank inventory this year and is seeking donations of firewood, hardwood logs or cash to help with the coming heating season.

The church’s first goal is to provide seasoned firewood to people in need. Also, if there is adequate supply, the church will sell some wood to provide extra funds for heating assistance for those who cannot burn wood.

Volunteers who are physically able and want to contribute their time and skill toward processing and delivering the wood are welcome. Donations can qualify as a tax deduction.

Call the church for further information at 829-3419 or Bruce Wildes at 829-6222.
