4/24 at 3:19 a.m. Gary Richard, 27, of Carlton E. Edwards Drive, Raymond, was issued a summons by Officer Christopher Woodcock on a charge of failing to notify insurance company of a motor vehicle accident.

4/25 at 1:23 a.m. Michael Mazul, 25, of Lisbon Street, Lisbon, was issued a summons by Officer Christopher Woodcock on a charge of operating while license suspended or revoked.

Book burners

4/18 At about 9:15 p.m., a caller notified police that three boys were on the Mabel Wilson School playground. The caller said the kids didn’t seem to be causing problems, just wanted police to be aware because of the time of day. Police responded and did not find the kids, but did find a school book burning in the area. The book fire was extinguished and the school resource officer was notified of the incident.

When racoons attack

4/15-4/16 Police received three separate calls regarding contact with racoons. At 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, a Range Way caller’s dog came into contact with a rabid racoon. The caller was issued a 45-day observation notice for the dog. At around 6:30 that night, a caller located at Foreside and Coveside roads reported a mangy racoon which appeared hurt staggering into the woods toward the water. Police were unable to locate the animal. At 7:20 p.m. Thursday, a Bruce Hill Road caller said a raccoon was wandering around the area with porcupine quills all over its face. Police spoke with neighboring residents and advised them to keep an eye out for the injured animal.
