5/20 at 5:35 p.m. Christopher Nielsen, 38, of Gray Road, was arrested on Gray Road by Officer Angelo Mazzone on a charge of domestic violence assault.

5/22 at 10:33 p.m. Karin Merchant, 48, of Carriage Road, was arrested on Heritage Lane by Officer Ryan Martin on charges of operating under the influence and operating beyond license restrictions.

5/23 at 12:37 a.m. Carrie Bastarache, 21, of Weeks Road, Gorham, was arrested on Old Gray Road by Officer Christopher Woodcock on a charge of operating under the influence.

5/24 at 1:03 a.m. Janet Clemons, 51, of Town Farm Road, New Gloucester, was arrested by Officer Christopher Woodcock on a charge of operating under the influence.

5/25 at 1:29 a.m. Matthew Boothby, 21, of Maplewood Avenue, Windham, was arrested on Wilson Road by Officer Antonio Ridge on charges of operating under the influence and operating after suspension.

Summonses

5/22 at 8:53 p.m. Shawn Davis, 38, of Main Street, Gray, was issued a summons on Gray Road by Officer Ryan Martin on a charge of operating under the influence.

Police report that over the past two weeks, as part of the “Click it or Ticket” campaign, they have issued 15 tickets and given 9 warnings to people not using their seat belts. The campaign runs through May 31, and involves nearly 70 police agencies across the state.

5/14 A Greely Road resident called police to request that a ground hog living in her backyard be removed before a birthday party was to be held that weekend. Police referred her to the warden’s service.

Big welcome

5/15 At around 10:30 p.m., a Town Landing Road resident called to tell police that someone was banging on her door. As soon as police units were dispatched, the caller realized that she knew the person at her door. One police unit continued to the house, and confirmed that the late-night door-knocker, who had Florida plates, was indeed aquainted with the resident.

Long gone

5/16 At around 3:30 p.m., a Deans Way resident reported that the previous night, at about 2 a.m., she’d heard what sounded like gunshots just below her bedroom window. The woman told police that her husband had initially advised her not to call police because he didn’t want to deal with them at such a late hour. When police responded to the home, they were shown a spent 16-shot roman candle the woman’s husband had recovered from the front yard. Police told the resident that if she ever again hears what she believes are gunshots, or anything else suspicious, that she please call police immediately.

Stubborn half-naked biker

5/17 Shortly before 7 p.m., a driver on Gray Road reported that a shirtless man was riding his bike down the center of the road heading into Gray and not moving for vehicles. Police were unable to locate the biker.
