Three local Cumberland boys (left to right): Joseph Giandrea, Logan Bagshaw and Max Cloutier, excelled at the recent Southwestern Regional 2014 Red Claws Hot Shot competition in South Portland. Giandrea (age 10) won the 9/10 division. Bagshaw (age 12) took the 11/12 division and Cloutier (age 10) was second to Giandrea in the 9/10 division. The boys’ skills were tested for speed, shooting, dribbling and rebounding ability.
Bagshaw, Cloutier and Giandrea went on to compete at the state competition at the Portland Expo Sunday. Giandrea (far left) was runner-up in the boys’ 9-10 division. Bagshaw (second from left) was runner-up in the boys’ 11-12 division. Cloutier was third in the boys’ 9-10 division. Brooke Obar (second from right) was the girls’ 11-12 division champion. Mollie Obar (far right) was the girls’ 9-10 division champion.
