CUMBERLAND — The Town Council on Monday unanimously approved an engineering contract for Blackstrap Road reconstruction, and a three-year labor contract with police.
The town awarded the $79,500 engineering work to Gorrill-Palmer Consulting Engineers, which was both the lowest bidder and scored the best among the three bidders after interviews and presentations.
Blackstrap Road will be reconstructed from Route 100 to the Falmouth line. The overall project budget is $1 million, which includes engineering and construction.
The police contract, which runs from this July through June 2017, calls for no salary increase the first year, and 2 percent in the second and third years.
