CUMBERLAND — The Town Council on Monday set the fiscal 2013 tax rate and unanimously approved a 3.2 percent increase in the sewer user fee.
The current average user fee of $62 a month will rise to $64 starting Aug. 1; it is the first increase in two years.
Next year’s tax rate of $16.55 per $1,000 of property tax valuation, an increase of 75 cents, was reflected in the budget the Town Council approved in April. That budget included municipal, school and county components.
The tax increase raises the annual assessment on a $300,000 home from $4,740 to $4,965.
