SOUTH PORTLAND — A motor vehicle crash Wednesday night, Jan. 31, took out the traffic light controller at the busy intersection of Maine Mall Road and Gorham Road.
According to a memorandum from City Manager Scott Morelli to city councilors, it will be a few days before the city gets a replacement and, in the interim, stop signs will be used at the intersection.
“Obviously not ideal at such a busy location,” Morelli said in the memo.
On his Twitter account, Councilor Adrian Dowling posted the memo and said traveling the in that area of the city will be “extra nightmarish.”
No additional information was available Thursday morning.
